What does the colour of your bedroom say about you?
Did you know that the colour of your bedroom explains a lot about your personality? Julian Charles has created a super interesting ebook which explains exactly what your colour choices say about you.
For example, I like to use white in my bedroom. According to the #ColourYourPersonality ebook, using colours like white and black suggests that I like the simple things in life. Since I enjoy sitting down with a good book, I tend to agree with this. It also suggests I’m cautious with my interiors, but I would more say that I tend to prefer simplicity in my bedroom, while I’m happy to have bright colours elsewhere.
When I was younger, I had a purple bedroom. This apparently means that I’m organized, which I would disagree with, but it also means I’m creative which I would definitely say is true. People who use purple are house-proud, and tend to have homes that inspire other people. If you’re thinking about using purple in your bedroom, there are a variety of shades you can use, from indigo to lilac, lavender, and more pastel shades.
While you may choose to paint a wall purple, you can also achieve the same sort of look by introducing art and furniture with purple in them.
I’m planning to style my future apartment in pink and grey. According to the ebook, Pink means you’re in touch with your feminine side, which I would say is definitely much more true now than it used to be. Apparently, this is the kind of colour that suggests you’re friendly, warm, and approachable, and makes your home look inviting. This is definitely something I would want to communicate with my decor.
Grey shows that you’re a little indecisive and reliable. It also shows you’re calm and serious. I think that grey and pink work really well together, so I would potentially use soft tones throughout my bedroom and stronger tones elsewhere in the apartment.
So what about people who prefer bolder colours? If you like the idea of using a colour like yellow, it shows you can be a bit of a perfectionist but you’re also creative. You’re generally positive, and tend to give advice to your friends and family. Keep in mind that you don’t have to use bright yellow everywhere- this can be overwhelming. Consider mustard or pale yellow, and plenty of white.
