4 Fun Ways to Make Some Extra Cash

Times are tough for many of us right now, and I know a lot of my friends and family are picking their brains for ways they can make a little extra cash. With the economic climate how it is right now, many people have had their salaries capped or even lost their jobs. Hopefully you haven’t been impacted too badly by the pandemic, but if you’re looking for some creative ways to make some extra money read on.

1. Freelancing
This is one of the easiest ways to make money, as you can sign up on a website like Fiverr.com or Upwork.com and find clients within hours. The hardest thing will be figuring out what you want to freelance in, especially if it’s your first time. I haven’t worked on Fiverr, myself, but I spent quite a bit of time freelance writing on Upwork. It was an obvious choice for me, as someone who loves blogging and creating content. I will preface by saying that you may do better focusing on what’s profitable, rather than what you love. For example I love writing about travel, lifestyle content, and personal finance – but so do a lot of other writers. I found that I picked up more clients focusing on their needs, such as cycling content, writing about yoga and health and lifestyle etc. Try to be flexible as you’ll find more clients that way!

2. Sports Betting
I really enjoy sports betting, it’s so fun for me analysing the competition and thinking about who I might win. It’s also more fun watching the sports games with a little money on the table. If you’re confident about the team you’re supporting, you can make pretty good returns by doing esports betting. This is probably one of the most fun ways in the entire world that you can make some extra cash. I suggest trying to research the teams or players you want to support as much as possible so you have a better chance of making some money.

3. Blogging
While I definitely enjoy blogging and there is some money to be made, it tends to be more of a long term project rather than a quick turn around income stream like esports betting and freelancing. With blogging there are a few ways you can make an income stream, but the main thing to focus on is getting readers. This means investing time in your content, SEO, social media and even your connections with other bloggers. If you love writing, then this could be a great hobby to start with and you can see where it takes you.

4. Decluttering
Decluttering is on trend right now, with numerous books and tv shows about cleaning out your closet becoming very popular. If you’re at home a bit more than usual, with a little extra time on your hands, this is a great way to transform your junk into cash. I always suggest starting with your closet, many of us have items of clothing that haven’t seen the light of day in years. You can go through each piece and analyse whether it “sparks joy” for you, or quite simply whether you have used in in the past year. If the answer is no to either question, you can put it up for sale on Facebook market place to earn some extra cash. I would go through your entire home and figure out all the things that are just collecting dust and get rid of them. The extra money will no doubt be handy at this time and you’ll be cleaning up your home in the process.

Times are tough for many of us, but hopefully these four tips help you find some ways to get a little extra cash when you need it the most.
