3 Tips for Feeling Your Best This Summer

Summer is my absolute favourite time of year, there’s something so special about the long, warm evenings that stretch towards midnight. With everything that’s gone on this year already, most of us are looking forward to the weather warming up and summer kicking into gear. With summer comes all the fun summer outfits, from cute clingy dresses, through to bikinis if you’re headed to the beach or the pool. Whether you’re where you want to be with your body or not, there are a few simple tips you can implement to ensure that you’re feeling and looking your best this summer. Read on to learn more.

1. Shapewear
There are very few people who can wear form fitting dresses without drawing attention to awkward panty lines or their love handles (even if they don’t really have any). I started using shapewear a few years ago and can’t believe the difference it’s made to how my outfits look, how I feel, and the confidence I have. Good quality shapewear gives me a little bit of lift where I need it, pulls my waist in, and even helps avoid chaffing if it’s a hot day. If you’re new to shapewear, or just looking for a new brand, check out Elle Courbee for their wonderful range of products that are sure to help you feel your best in that clingy dress you love!

2. Focus on Nutrition
You’ve probably heard the old saying “you are what you eat” a million times – but it is so true. The food you eat impacts how you feel, your energy levels, and of course your health. Feeling your best is not simply about looking your best, it’s also about having the health and energy for the things you love to do. I personally find summer the best time to start focusing on nutrition because there are so many affordable fresh fruit and vegetables in season, making it easier and cheaper to get on a health buzz. Make small, sustainable changes to your diet, such as incorporating a smoothie each day, taking your vitamins, and making healthy substitutions. Another great way you can improve your nutrition is by looking at what types of food make you feel less energised and slowly reducing them in your diet.

3. Get Active
Is there anything better than the free buzz of endorphins you get after some exercise you enjoy doing? Science has shown us that exercising brings numerous benefits that ensure you look and feel your best. If you’ve just been through some kind of lockdown due to Covid, then chances are you’ve spent a few weeks or months with reduced activity levels, making it even more important to get moving again. I personally love doing a yoga class with a friend, then catching up for a smoothie or brunch together afterwards. Adding in the social aspect means I’ll enjoy it even more!

Hopefully these three tips help ensure you’re looking and feeling your best as the weather warms up. Have a wonderful summer!
