Top Fashion Trends for Men this Season
For men who like to stay stylish, keeping up with fashion trends is a must- no one wants to be wearing clothes from three seasons ago. We’ve done the research so you don’t have to, so here are the top fashion trends for men this season:
These jackets are also known as Sukajan, and date back to soon after WWII when American soldiers who were based in Japan began commissioning hand-made, ornate jackets as a souvenir. The jackets have a mixture of Eastern and Western iconography such as America military symbols and eagles along with traditional imagery from Japan such as cherry blossoms and tigers.
They’ve been mimicked for years, and you’ll find that it’s pretty easy to find a similar jacket although you should be prepared to pay a pretty penny for it.
If you’re looking for some fashionable shoes this year, these trainers with woven strips on their soles are favourites. The woven trend is officially here to stay, and Converse has embraced it with woven suede detailing on their Chuck Taylors and Deck Stars.
Jeans are a must
Those who like to chill in their jeans will be happy this year. Expect to see patched, bleached and ripped detailing, with the “lived-in” look bigger than ever. Mens jeans have long be one of the most popular items for males, but expect to find most of them with unique rips and detailing.
Backpacks are revolutionised
Backpacks are always a popular choice, but you’ll be interested to learn that they’ve been getting a makeover and designers are playing with the materials, sizes and shapes- giving birth to backpacks that can be brought to the boardroom. Expect to see navy leather, chrome hardware and sleek black styles.
Socks and sandals
If you haven’t yet tried this one, you’re not alone. But if you take a look around next time you’re out, you’re likely to see a bunch of guys wearing gym socks with their pool shoes. Designers have been going with this across the board, with Italian fashion houses and East End labels embracing the trend. These aren’t just any socks and shoes though, so expect to invest in luxurious cashmere and cotton socks and comfortable leather pool slides.
Skip the teeny-weeny shorts and pick up a pair with a little more coverage. A tailored pair of shorts can be used for many different occasions and a baggier, longer style is a great way to cool down without risking indecent exposure.
No one wants to have that tight, constricted feeling, which is why some of the leading designers in the industry are introducing roomier chinos and trousers, with both straight and relaxed styles available to choose from, so you no longer need to choose between baggy jeans or pipe cleaner trousers.
