Simple ways to improve your health and wellbeing
Living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t need to be a difficult task. However, at times it can feel a little overwhelming. Now that American healthcare has come into the picture (especially the installment of the ACA tax credit), hopefully views on personal health will improve. If you want to start improving your health and well being then here are some simple habits to add into your every day life.
Take supplements
It’s a fact that these days we do not get enough nutritional value from our food so in order to stay healthy we need to take some supplements to stay at optimal health levels. There is a range of different supplements that you can take depending on your needs and can easily be bought online at Chemist Australia. Speak to a pharmacist or naturopath to find the right supplements for you.
Eat whole
Try and stick to as close whole foods as possible. These days so much of our food is over processed and filled with preservatives, sugars and god knows what other nasties. When supermarket shopping try and stick to the outside edges as best as possible. Rather then your supermarket trolley filled up with packets try and fill it with fruit, veges and whole foods.
Get moving
You don’t need to spend hours on end at the gym to be healthy. Try and see where in your life you can add a bit more activity. Perhaps you could walk to work instead of taking the bus, or use the stairs instead of the elevator. Go for an evening walk along the beach, or get out of the office at lunch and take a walk around the block. It doesn’t need to be walking either, perhaps buy a bicycle and start cycling places rather then driving. Find a hobby or sport that you find fun and get’s you moving on a regular basis.
Get more sleep
Our bodies only heal and recover when we are asleep, that’s why a good nights sleep is essential for a healthy body and mind. Any sleep you get before midnight is worth double what it is after midnight, so try going to bed a little earlier. If sleep is a problem for you, make sure you get into some good sleeping patterns. Things like phones and laptops in bed can create problems with your sleep cycle due to being too engaging and because of the light as well.
De-stress
Being stressed out all the time has a major impact on our health and wellbeing. Not only does it affect our moods but it also harms our immune system making us prone to more illness. It’s important to take some time each day to help de-stress. To bring some calmness into your day try meditating or a gentle yoga. If you are one to constantly be on your phone or laptop for work e-mails try dedicating a couple of hours a day to being technology free. Remember to take regular holidays and time out for yourself.
